December 21 Talea Ensemble Solstice Concert

Champions of musical creativity and visionary new works, Talea performs Georg Friedrich Haas’s  Solstices for ten musicians (2017) in complete darkness.

On the winter solstice, Talea will perform Georg Friedrich Haas’s Solstices for ten musicians in complete darkness. By subtracting light from our sensory palette, Solstices adds a new lens to our ability to relate to sound, bringing together performers and audiences through intensive listening. An immersive work, Solstices amplifies the experience of listening through microtones and overtones and evokes the natural phenomena of planetary movement.
