Clay Pulling – Snake Forms

‘Pull’ long snake forms out of clay (up to 4 feet long!) Using wild local clay from the Hudson River tributaries. These pieces are made from the same clay as used in the brickmaking industry along the Hudson River.Symbolic of evolution and change, these snake sculptures are not scary! The technique is the same as a potter would use to ‘pull’ a mug handle out of clay.  Oliva Barry will lead demonstrations all day long and viewers are invited to watch or get their hands into the clay if they like.
