The symposium titled “Illustration, Puppetry, and American Popular Culture: The Art and Legacy of Tony Sarg” is jointly organized by two institutions: the Rockwell Center for American Visual Studies, a research institute associated with the Norman Rockwell Museum, specializing in the field of illustration, and the American Theater for Puppetry Arts, a nonprofit organization located in Austerlitz, New York, committed to promoting puppetry and engaging a wider and more diverse audience.

This symposium draws its inspiration from the Norman Rockwell Museum’s well-received summer-fall exhibition, “Tony Sarg: Genius at Play,” which has been lauded by Art New England for its vibrant and diverse content. Notably, this exhibition will remain open for viewing until November 5th.
