“This special performance combines poetry and music, exploring the wide range of human condition and more. From rhapsody to humor, from ecstasy to grief, from West to East, the performance opens with features translucent Baroque music and character pieces by the great Edward Elgar, before turning to magnificent music works drawing from whirling dervishes, Native American lore, and Spanish dance. Throughout the program, the poetic narrative is entwined with the music.
